Half max nationals

let me give you the break down of the race. They cancelled the swim because of unsafe ecoil levels due to all the rain they had there recently so my chance for breaking 4:30 this season was shot. They did a TT start random order for the bike run. So i went out a little [...]

Running with the Paladins – Furman 5K Family Run

I had the opportunity to run in the Furman 5K Family Run, which was part of Furman University’s Family Weekend September 24 -26. The weather in Greenville was almost perfect: cool and clear. I’d love to have had a little less humidity, but then I’m from out West.
[...]

Lake Lanier Islands Triathlon

Hey everyone!
Well today was my last race of the season, and I could not have been any more pleased. There were about 1100 participants, definitely the biggest race I have been in. I raced with my fellow teammates Will Spence of UGA and Kim Landrum of DBT! Both did extremely well! This was a sprint [...]

A Day to Celebrate

The Augusta 70.3 half  ironman has been on my calender since the day after the 2009 race.   It was my biggest  race of the season.  This event was even more important because  Arlene had also committed to it last year as a way of celebrating her 40th birthday.  The Augusta 70.3 race has been [...]

Age group national championchip. Tuscaloosa, AL

This is my third age group nats and my fourth time racing the course in Tuscaloosa.  I’ve had some good races on it and some just ok races on it.
I was a little nervous about the swim because I have not done a mass start swim since April.  Every other race I have done this [...]

Rocketman Triathlon. Huntsville, AL

I decided last minute to head to Alabama to race an olympic distance over the Athens sprint in order to prep for nationals.  Plus my buddy helped this race so he comped my fee.  I’ve never been to Huntsville, so I love racing in places I have never been before.
This was also the first time [...]

I am lucky and blessed to have an awesome family!

This past weekend my husband and I traveled to Tuscaloosa Alabama where we met my parents and two older brothers and raced at the USAT National Championships. The weekend consisted of the Olympic distance race on Saturday and the Sprint on Sunday. It was such a GREAT weekend!
It is really special for me to share [...]

Why not?

We had a great end of season celebration in Augusta last weekend. Donna and I were fortunate enough to be included in a large group celebration at a lake house away from the mess that was pre race check-in, registration and bike set-ep etc that goes with a race of 3100 entrants. All [...]

Augusta 70.3…wet and wild!

Bree and I travelled to Augusta this weekend for the Ironman Augusta 70.3.  I joined at least 10 other Athens athletes and 2 other DBT team members in the race.  We got to the registration and expo @ 12:00 Saturday and had to wait in a line for @45min to get my race packet.  We [...]

Chattanooga Waterfront

This is my third time racing in Chattanooga and though this race takes place int he middle of July it has always been a great experience.  Team Magic does a great job putting on all of their Races!
I started near the back (time-trial start), partly because I registered too late and partly because of age.  [...]
